This painting is on the cover of a rather silly book I have called “The Sacred Prostitute: Eternal Archetype of the Feminine”, which opens with the story of a “world-weary” man who is mothered, pampered, shagged, and sent on his way by an obliging professional. It describes “the soft, warm expression of her radiant eyes”. That’s not what we see in the painting - rather, her expression says, “Oh, for fuck’s sake, another one of these clowns. Oh well, kit off and kettle on.” XD
